Hello again! Let’s continue discussing the design for my Teen Son’s Bedroom at The Shack. Last time I shared the two vibrant fabrics I’m planning to use on a window treatment and bolster pillow in Grady’s Room. Today I want to discuss the bedding.

Here are two colorful textiles from Greenhouse Fabrics which I’m planning to use in Grady’s room. Since I don’t want orange and blue to be the only colors in the space, I’m going to introduce bedding that has a bit of some other bright colors too.

I decided to purchase this Duvet Cover from Pottery Barn to use on Grady’s bed at The Shack. The pattern is called Fauna and it features over-sized colorful birds and insects. I love how the scale of the pattern is extra large and the colors are very vibrant. There’s also a touch of both the orange and the blue in this fabric, so it will tie in nicely to the fabrics I’ve already chosen.
That duvet cover is really awesome, because Grady and I both enjoy feeding and watching the birds. It’s something we’ve enjoyed doing together for many years, so using this particular bedding has added meaning for Grady and I. Plus, it brings a natural, woodsy element into this teen boy’s bedroom in the Poconos. It’s almost like using a floral fabric, but without the super feminine feel of flowers. I think this pattern is just perfect for Grady’s bedroom at The Shack.

Here’s another photo from Pottery Barn, featuring the Fauna Duvet cover. You can see they paired it with a strong blue, then used black accents on the furniture, as well. It’s nice to see this combination I’m planning to do in Grady’s room, and see it used so successfully elsewhere.
I also have several pieces of colorful artwork I’m planning to use in Grady’s room. They have very similar colors which will nicely echo those in the bird and butterfly print of the Pottery Barn Fauna pattern.
Next time, let’s talk about paint colors to go with all these beautiful textiles. I also have plans to add a little architectural interest in this teen boy’s bedroom at The Shack. I promise, there WILL be a fabulous room reveal coming very soon!
There’s still a lot more to share with you, so I hope you’ll stick around as I post the before and afters in our little Poconos mountain house. Until then, make sure to like Robinson Interiors on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter, and DO stay tuned for future updates on The Shack!
